The course is taught by two teachers who have had experience as direct caregivers

of children with a mental illness. The curriculum covers the following issues:

• ·          "The Biology of Mental Illness; Getting an Accurate
  Diagnosis"

• ·          "Treatment Works"

• ·          "Objective and Subjective Family Burden"

• ·          "The System Involved with Your Child and the Importance of Record Keeping"

• ·          "Advocacy, Review, Sharing, and Evaluation"

Nami BASICS is offered without charge.
